One of those jobs that just hadn't been done... Since the bogie went back under the loco in 1992, we just hadn't got round to finishing the underside paint work. |
I took a few shots of the lubrication pipework. You can see why Pete.T & Tony have working hard on getting it done each weekend. |
It is a complex layout, and bending the pipes in the correct order is very important. |
|
Finishing touches like getting all the angles of the pipes the same, makes all the difference to the end result. |
Bogie underside now getting some attention. |
A view of the cladding on the inside cylinders. |
Also the view from underneath the inside cylinders. The next job is to do the drain cock pipes. |
Pete.G and Alex have been very busy this week... around 400 stays have been put in on one side of the Kings boiler! |
A general view with most of one side in. |
The Great Western style inside cylinder cover, now glossed and stored ready for the day when 6023 is turned out in 1948 GW green. |
The frames now painted ready for when the cover is finished and is bolted on. |
Today the steam crane was in operation. Moving the large 50ton steam cranes boiler ready for it to be tested. |
